FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
General
Are you another Rideshare / Delivery service?
No. We don't compete with any of the rideshare, food, grocery or parcel delivery companies. Using community data, we're here to help you better understand when, where and what job to work in your city so that you can earn more in less time.
Does this cost anything?
Solo is free to download and offers monthly, quarterly, and annual subscription options. All subscriptions include a 7-day trial. Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android), and will automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. For those in eligible cities, you can guarantee your daily pay using Solo's credit system ($.50/credit). For more information on what's included check out our pricing page.
How do you actually help me make more per hour?
Today, worker earnings on any one company's platform (Uber, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) can be extremely volatile day to day or even hour to hour. They have different peak demand/pay periods and different levels of supply constraints. Without transparent, market wide earnings information it can make your decision of where and when to work extremely difficult. We're here to give you all the information you need to see what jobs are paying the most in real time and make it easy to plan your schedule to hit your earnings goal faster. On average, users in cities where our Smart Schedule is available make up to 40% more per hour or up to $360/month in places like Seattle.
This seems too good to be true. How can you guarantee pay?
It's not too good to be true - it's math and statistics! As more Solopreneurs join the Solo platform, we are able to provide increasingly accurate pay predictions. As these predictions reach a certain level of reliability we then guarantee them for those scheduling their app based work with the Solo platform in a growing number of cities.
Does Solo track my location and miles?
Yes! You must opt-in to mileage tracking and keep the app on in the background while you work to qualify for the Pay Guarantee program. Solo's app automatically tracks and calculates your work-related driving so that you can maximize your tax deductions as long as you open the app and keep it running in the background while you work. The app matches your location with your gig working time so that you don’t need to turn the tracker on and off manually. You can also edit your deductible miles manually to ensure further accuracy. On average, we see that users can save $1,500/year in tax deductions when using Solo.
Does this work in my city?
Yes! You can access your income dashboard, mileage tracking and tax projections anywhere in the United States when you link your work accounts. Solo and the Pay Guarantee program are available in a growing number of metro areas—check out the map on our Pay Guarantee page for the full list.

Security & Data
What will you do with my data?
We use your data to help provide insights about your individual work history across multiple earnings sources. This data is aggregated anonymously with others in the community to provide city-level pay and performance benchmarks. We will delete your data if 1) you disconnect a linked work account or 2) if you delete your Solo account. You can find more information on our data policies here.

Your login credentials are secure, encrypted and sent directly to your chosen app which allows us to securely retrieve trip data. We will never receive a copy of your login info and we are not able to access your accounts. When you disconnect a linked work account, we also delete all data related to that user and platform.

Why do I need to set my schedule?
The Pay Guarantee tool shows you the optimal earnings schedule for your day. Saving your selected job schedule allows us to know which job you plan to work (and the corresponding predicted earnings to attribute to your pay guarantee).
Does the Pay Guarantee Program cost anything?
Pro plan users have unlimited access to the Smart Schedule in their city. Pro plan users also receive 20 free credits (one credit = one hour of work) to guarantee their pay each month as a part of their subscription. To guarantee more than 10 hours, you can purchase additional credits for $.50. If you purchase credits in bulk, you can save up to 25%. You can also find more information in our recent blog post or on our pricing page.
Where does this data come from and how do you predict hourly earnings?
We are able to provide earnings predictions for major gig jobs across each hour and day of the week by using collective data and insights from the Solo community. This real, community based data informs Solo’s predictive algorithm, which shows your predicted earnings by job and hour. Your anonymized work information contributes to the community insights; however, your personal information is never available to anyone else.
Why are you offering this?
Our overarching goal is to provide income stability for workers in the gig space by eliminating the downside risk associated with flexible work and variable pay. We believe this can be accomplished by providing you with better earnings data that solves the problem of where, when and what job you should work to hit your income goals. We want to help you, and others, stabilize earnings and optimize your time.
When do I get paid?
Payouts occur once weekly. While your earnings are assured on a daily basis, you will be able to access any accrued amounts for the prior week (Monday to Sunday) on the following Tuesday. For example, if you earn five dollars less than Solo’s predictions for each of the three days you schedule and work in a given week, you will accrue a daily amount of $15 for the week. Payouts will occur on Tuesdays during the day.
Is the Pay Guarantee Program in my city?
Solo and the Pay Guarantee program are currently available in select metro areas. See the full map and learn more on our Pay Guarantee page.
Are Pay Guarantee payouts considered taxable income?
No, you do not have to report any payouts resulting from the Solo Pay Guarantee program when filing your taxes. Any Pay Guarantee payouts are classified as a warranty when Solo’s Pay Predictions are above the amount you earn (assuming you meet the program requirements), which are not taxable income.
